Lorenzo Cinalli
Lorenzo is a Community Planner at DPR. He manages DPR's planning initiatives by developing park master plans, supporting sustainability initiatives, and engaging with partners throughout DC. Lorenzo also serves as DPR's representative to the DC Urban Forestry Advisory Council, and as Chair of the Chesapeake Bay Program's Public Access Workgroup. Lorenzo received his MA from George Washington University in Environmental Resource Policy, and has a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science.
Kelly serves as the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) Compliance Inspector at DPR. She completes site inspections as required by federal guidelines and ensures the grant process for new LWCF sites complies with local and federal laws. Prior to this current role, she completed her doctorate capstone project at DPR assessing accessibility and inclusivity factors of their 100+ playgrounds. Her passion lies in provision of equitable access to outdoor space and the positive outcomes for individuals and communities that this access can result in. Kelly holds a Clinical Doctorate in Occupational Therapy and a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Society with a concentration in Environment and Society. Her best friend is her dog, Dino. 🦖

Shayda Musavi
Shayda is a Landscape Architect at DPR. She draws from her background in community design, sustainable design, and arboriculture to manage many of DPR’s Capital Projects. She is passionate about creating public spaces that welcome the community and enhance the lives of DC citizens and visitors. With prior experience in the non-profit, private, and public sectors, Shayda always aims to center the human experience in her work. Shayda is a University of Maryland almunus, a LEED Green Associate, and a Certified ISA Arborist.
Peter has over twenty years of landscape architecture experience in Washington, including over a decade managing award-winning parks and recreation facilities for DC DPR. He oversees dozens of community projects annually, consistently helping DC to secure their position among the top five park systems in the country. Previously, Peter ran his own design-build firm for seven years and worked with the Tilson Group on high-security Federal Sites, including the Pentagon and Homeland Security and Coast Guard Headquarters. Peter is a UMass Amherst alumnus, he has also served as an international consultant and a guest lecturer at both the University of Maryland and Catholic University of America.

Riley Piva
Riley is a Community Planner with the DC Department of Parks and Recreation managing the planning portfolio for the agency. Riley focuses her work on enhancing equitablepark access, improving systemic park maintenance, implementing climate resilient infrastructure in parks, and managing DPR’s federal grant portfolio. Rileycenters thecommunity and equitable community access inall her projects,striving to providehigh-quality, community-supported greenspace and recreational amenities across all 8 wards.
Prior to joining DPR, Riley was a Climate Resilience Analyst at the DC Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency and worked on climate hazard mitigation for the District’s critical infrastructure assets. She also managed HSEMA’s resilience data portfolio and supported the sustainability of the region’s food supply chain.
Riley holds a Master of Public Policy with a concentration on Regional Planning and a Bachelor of Environmental Policy from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Jake is the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) Program Analyst with the DC Department of Park and Recreation (DPR). He works on identifying which projects should receive LWCF funds based on criteria outlined in DC’s 2026 Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan. His passion lies in improving infrastructure within cities so they may better facilitate social and fun experiences. Through his work at DPR, he aims to improve the quality of recreation spaces in the District and increase equitable access to them. Before joining DPR, Jake was a member of the Chesapeake Conservation and Climate Corps, where he worked with a nonprofit to plan a network of walking trails in Lexington Park, MD.
Jake holds a Bachelor of Environmental Studies and Biology from Gettysburg College and is currently pursuing a Master of Urban and Regional Planning at Georgetown University.
